Music for 2016!

Reno Celtic Celebration is pleased to announce our headline group for this year:

whiskeyandstitches

Whiskey and Stitches!

They’ve not been to Northern Nevada before, and we sure are excited to have them here. From their bio, (Sacramento News and Review) -” The musicians in Whiskey and Stitches bash out the type of rock ‘n’ roll that’s at once clearly defined by its influences, yet also completely divorced from any rules. With an Irish-American pub sound that owes as much to Bill Monroe and the Ramones as it does the Pogues, Whiskey and Stitches’ music is angry and jubilant… come prepared to stomp around and maybe shed a tear, too.” – Rachel Leibrock

Also on the bill this year is One Eyed Reilly:

oneeyed

One Eyed Reilly is a Celtic/Americana rock band from Sacramento, CA that blends well-crafted original songs with modern Celtic rock, Americana, and energetic, innovative versions of traditional Irish classics. One Eyed Reilly’s original songs honor the lineage of Irish folk to Americana to alt-country rock, drawing upon wide-ranging musical influences from traditional Irish (The Clancy Brothers, The Chieftains, The Dubliners, etc.) to Celtic punk (Flogging Molly, The Dreadnoughts, Dropkick Murphys, etc.) to a varied spectrum of artists ranging from Van Morrison and Steve Earle to Gram Parsons and Townes Van Zandt. They infuse their live performances with choice covers ranging from Bob Dylan to John Prine to Tom Waits to Wilco or Old Crow Medicine Show. Ultimately, this genre-bending free-for-all sets the perfect foundation for a beer-and-whiskey drenched good time.

We also welcome back local favorites Ciana and 317. More info and a schedule coming soon! Can’t believe we are only six weeks away!
